Youth and Young Adult Workshops

Block A

1. YouTube w/Bob Estrella
- Everyone has a story to tell and with today’s technology we are able to share our stories with the world. This workshop will have a technical side of how to shoot, edit and post videos on the internet on a budget and explore topics on how we can express, represent and share our gifts to our local church and the larger community.  We will also explore using video as a ministry in the church and our communities. (Limit 30)


2. Identy Workshop w/Melissa Woo
- Addressing the struggle to identify, not only as young Christians, but as ethnic, people of color in today’s society. Explore the affect pop culture and media has on our self-image/self-love. Explore the differences between struggles in Hawai`i and on the continental US.

3. Biblical/theological reflection on Human Rights
- a conversation with National UCC staff person, Rev. Sala Nolan, Minister for Human Rights and Criminal Justice, Justice and Witness Ministries.

Block B

1. LBBTQ Workshop w/Yee-Shin Huang
-ALL youth and young adults are invited and highly encouraged to attend this conversation which seeks to connect LGBTQ issues with Christianity d being Pacific Islander or Asian-American.
